About Me

Fitness is fun! We should be able to enjoy a high quality of life - there is every opportunity here in Austin to eat a healthy diet and have the mobility and strength to have fun doing whatever we want to do. My wife and I love to workout and run and just enjoy life together! Staying in shape has been a great way to keep the doctor away - I truly believe that if we could all do a little more prevention it would save us a lot on "cures"! As the saying goes - " an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure."

As for what training I have received to equip me to help you - I'm an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. I also have a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer Certificate and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Certificate. I've been doing personal and group training for about 3 years. I've had wonderful experiences training men and women at a variety of fitness levels - I've included just 3 of the many success stories I've been privileged to work with along the way. I recognize these are not so much my successes as their triumphs great and small. It's been awesome to accompany them on their journey. Together we will assess your fitness needs and goals - we'll then set specific progress markers to systematically reach your long term milestones. You'll enjoy the fact that all along the way I'll help to motivate you to keep giving it your best. Additionally, you'll be empowered with a balanced view of your strengths and weaknesses and a deeper understanding of the "why's" of your program.

Ashley - she impresses me in a new way every time she comes to the gym. She's in her mid 40's and has trained with me for almost 2 years. One of her biggest struggles has been just believing that she can succeed in her training. We have worked diligently with her to instill the confidence she deserves - because she really can do it! Several months back she was very ill for several months, when she returned to the gym, she was under doc's orders to only workout with 25% of the weight she had been using prior. Mo - This young woman is a natural. From day 1 she has always put 100% into her training. When she started training with me, about 2.5 years ago, she was uncomfortable using an Olympic weightlifting bar, just the bar - no weights on it. But, because of her hard work and determination she can now deadlift 2x her bodyweight! She has always been very responsive to coaching; perhaps more significantly, she's spent a lot of time practicing the Olympic lifts. Now Mo can clean and jerk well over bodyweight!

Andrea - What a Trooper! This girl has always been strong physically but the more we trained together - the more evidence of her mental toughness I saw! She can almost Strict Press her bodyweight overhead and puts so much effort into every workout. What amazes me even more is her determination to do what doesn't come as natural for her - things like running. My wife and I have helped her train for 3 races - the Hartford Matathon, NYC Marathon and the Brooklyn Half Marathon. Andrea was able to run in the 2015 NYC Marathon. By that run, we were able to individualize a run schedule just for her and integrate it with the weightlifting schedule she loves - without it killing her! My wife and I ran with her on almost every training run - including that final 20 mile race prep. Andrea will not quit! She truly embodies the saying - "When the going gets tough, the tough get going!"
