About Me

Being a biracial female makes me susceptible to virtually every illness out there. Throughout my life I have seen my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends suffer from preventable, reversible and untreatable conditions. Watching the people closest to me endure that pain was, and still is, heartbreaking.

From middle school through college I played competitive tennis, ending my career as a NCAA DII athlete. For a decade I was fortunate enough to have someone constantly motivating me and pushing me beyond my limits. My coaches provided me with all of the tools I needed to physically keep my body in shape and mentally ready. I graduated college and no longer had that constant bug in my ear telling me to be active and stay active, becoming very comfortable in the complete opposite lifestyle of an athlete.

The weight on the scale gradually started to increase, I had absolutely no energy to do anything and I became more hesitant to stand in front of the mirror. I realized I needed to do something about my health and quickly. I joined the gym and was completely caught off guard when I was told my body fat % and how much weight I needed to lose to get it to a healthy range. I left the gym that day in total disbelief and even denial about it all, but deep down I knew the truth.

I fought myself every week to make it into the gym at least once, then twice a week, until the fight got easier and I was going at least 3 times a week. At home I tried eating healthier foods, adding some more fruits and vegetables in my diet, and tried avoiding going out to eat at all if I could. Over the next 6 months the weight slowly started coming off and I started to feel a little more like my old self. I started to smile more, stopped walking past mirrors with my head down, and without hesitation would hop right in front of the camera. I loved how I was feeling and was proud of myself for not giving up on me and my health, even though there were many days I just wanted to throw in the towel and even did at times.

After seeing friends and family and many others around me fighting some of these very same battles, I wanted to help. I became a certified weight control counselor and started to realize that many people were unaware of what they needed to do to lose weight and get healthy. I understood, due to my own past, people's lack of motivation and limited knowledge of nutrition and its effects on their bodies. Working closely with registered dietitians, nutritionists, and certified personal trainers allowed me the opportunity to learn a great wealth about fitness and nutrition and it's direct effect on one's health and mental state, and put it into practice with helping my client's achieve their optimal weight loss.

A couple of years later, I decided to change directions and became a certified personal trainer. I knew it was time for me to be that motivator for people, and an educator. I wanted to ensure that I was well versed in all facets of the health and fitness industry, in order to provide my clients with everything they need to achieve success. Now, five years later, I have never been more excited and ready to help anyone and everyone that will allow me. My professional experience combined with my degree in education, allows me to help my clients adapt and embrace a healthier lifestyle that is unique to them. What to Expect

My clients should expect to have fun, learn new exercises and proper technique, and continue to see improvement in their health and physical abilities. Each session is guided by my client's wants and needs; which can often change from day to day or week to week. I allow for a lot of flexibility in the format of my client's program, in order to ensure comfort, confidence and growth.

Every month I take my client's measurements to track their progress, and Danielle's have been the most exciting for me! About a month into our training journey together, she found out she was pregnant with her second child. Now here we are 7 months into her pregnancy and I couldn't be more proud of her. She's such a wonderful mom already to her 3 year old daughter, an amazing wife and a full time student, all at the same time keeping to her 3x/wk training schedule with me. Danielle is not only working on taking care of herself and her health, but is setting such a great example for her growing family.
