Hi, my name is Shawn. I have been a personal trainer since 2010 and worked in elite fitness clubs such as Equinox Fitness and Fitness Formula Clubs here in Chicago. I work with mostly a corporate office demographic, no matter what your schedule demands I've always found ways for my clients to achieve aesthetic results (as long as you can get 30 to 45 minutes of strength training 3 to 5 times a week, 30 to 45 minutes of low impact cardio & eat better). I am a men's physique athlete, placed 2nd in my 1st show and 7th in my class at junior nationals. Fitness isn't just my career, its my passion. It's help me through the roughest moments in life and I know it will help all my clients.
45 minutes to an hour of strength training depending on level of condition. AND OR.. 30 to 45 minutes Steady state cardio (done on own).
I've had a client who has 2 kids, a demanding job as a trader, travels on the road a lot for work and a "Santa" belly. When he 1st started training he only did the treadmill and would run 3 miles. He believed once i could run three 7 minute miles he'd be in great shape. I told him he'd most likely get injured before hitting that goal do to impact on knees. We agreed on strength training twice a week. He hurt his knee and calf on same side, and then he wanted to hear how I program cardio. I told him how and he laughed, said "that's to easy" but he had no other option..... 2 weeks in the scale changed 5lbs. More open to continuing my plan of break down muscle tissue during weight training and burn fat during cardio. 6 months later, he was grinning like a little kid. No more belly, his stomach was flat by not perfect he said but better results then he gotten been and injury free. After that moment he learned my training approach and he was ready to be self sufficient in the gym. Unfortunately, I want there to see his end results (because i became an independent trainer).... or so I thought. Fast forward, I'm walking in the west loop amongst all the corporate financial crowd while it a prefect summer day and here come my old client. We bro huge it out, he's half the size he was' literally. He sets his work bag down, throws his tye over his shoulder, untucks his shirt while pulling it up and relieves a great looking 6 pack. I was floor so happy he got to his overall goal. I asked what he'd been doing and he said "the same method of training i had showed him". -30 lbs of fat & +10lbs of muscle build. These are typical results when sticking to the plan and making sure the 3 most important objectives are getting done.
