About Me

 I was born in the heart of Los Angeles, CA. At an early age I gravitated toward boxing as a way to work out aggression. While visiting Thailand I was introduced to the sweet science of the eight limbs called Muay Thai kickboxing and have had the honor of being part of that culture ever since. I established "Body Art by Shaun" in 1996 with the idea of not only challenging, but also inspiring individuals to become their best while achieving their fitness goals. I have been a certified personal trainer since 1997 and have had the pleasure of training everyone from non-athletes to athletes to celebrities alike. I have established several children's afterschool fitness programs within Inglewood, CA, and Hawthorne, CA. I was health and fitness editor for Inglewood Today and Crenshaw Today Magazines. I also maintained a monthly fitness article with both magazines titled "Shape Up with Shaun." I've had the luxury of being part of several fitness videos including, Kathy Smith's timesaver video series, "Lift Weights to Loose Weight" and lead cyclist in the "Cycle Reebok" infomercial. 

What to Expect

The training sessions in Muay Thai usually last for 60-90 minutes. During these training sessions you will be engaged in various physical activities like running, stretching before the exercises take place, bag work, shadow boxing, training with Thai pad, rope skipping, exercising with a medicine ball, weight training, etc. While you are practicing these training sessions you should be ready for rapid weight loss because the training can be intense. One of the benefits everyone loves is the burning of the excessive fat. This is one of the most attractive benefits that Muay Thai training and the reason why so many people enjoy Muay Thai so much.

I have worked with other trainers in the past, but Shaun is by far the best. You'll achieve whatever cosmetic changes you set your mind to, but Shaun's focus is on your strength and fitness; the cosmetic changes are a welcome byproduct. "Trust the process," he often says.
