Hi there! My name is Shahin. I'm a certified personal trainer and a recent UC Berkeley grad with a degree in Integrative Biology. I'm a mobile trainer, so I meet with my clients at their homes, outdoors, or really anywhere they prefer with all the equipment for our workouts. My passion for training comes from my own experience with exercise and with injury. What started as a desire to teach proper exercise form to others transformed into an overarching desire to guide clients toward their health goals, whatever they may be. Having studied at Berkeley, my biggest skill is learning. If we train together, you can be sure that I'll take every effort to learn about you, your goals, your physical capacity, imbalances, and the optimal plan of action for you.

When I first began as a trainer at a commercial gym, I was paired with a fantastic former athlete who was determined to lose 60lbs. She had a rough several years and decided she wanted a change. But after a month or two, she made very little progress and I felt personally responsible. I had to make a change, and we essentially started over. I made a plan that she could stick to, rather than a generic plan that I initially thought would work. I learned about her true motivations and made use of them to keep her consistently active even on days when we didn't meet. Once I truly individualized her training, the weight fell off. And after 5 months of training with me, she was down 45lbs. The best part: even after we finished training together, she sustained her healthy lifestyle and continued to improve.
