I'm a certified personal trainer, CrossFit coach, nutrition coach, and pregnancy and postpartum fitness coach! I'm passionate about what I do because it changed my own life 8 years ago. I used to be over 100lbs heavier than I am today, suffering from type 2 diabetes and PCOS. Now, I get to help people change their lives and improve their quality of life. I'm a full time personal trainer and coach in Novato. I'm pursuing my PhD in Nutrition and Metabolic Biology and have a dream of opening my own brick and mortar facility for clients in the future. I provide the best value and service as a coach and trainer. My clients all start with an in depth, joint by joint movement assessment and 60-90 minute consultation. I want to get to know you, your goals, your lifestyles, and what your stress, sleep, diet, and movement looks like. This is anything but a generic fitness and nutrition plan. This is 100% custom and designed for you and your lifestyle.
A thought out, balanced fitness session with your goals and needs in mind. What do you want to do that you can't do now? What's your goal? What range of motion limitations do you have? Do you have a health condition (obesity, neuromuscular disease, etc.) that we need to be mindful of? What is your current fitness level? All of these things determine how your sessions are designed. I structure each day with a thorough warm up, both general, specific, and for heart rate. After your warm up, you will have either specific sets and reps to complete or you may get some strength/skill work and a workout. That depends. Your current fitness level and limitations determine where you start and what we focus on progressing to. We will keep track of progress via my own app that I will add you to when you sign up. You will be able to see workouts a week ahead of time or even have days to complete on your own without me, for an extra cost. Tracking progress varies on the person. I don't think the scale is a great measurement tool so I like to use photos, measurements, or body composition. Tracking data is crucial and I will consistently talk to you about if goals or life are changing, we can adapt.
I’ve resigned myself to just being overweight, since I’ve tried so many diets and gyms that never seemed to work but only a short while. Compound my feelings with having PCOS and CMT, which is a peripheral neuropathy not allowing me to run or do any “normal” exercises, and I just became too exasperated. Then I received a notification for a Facebook group I’m in, and I read Samantha’s story. A little fire ignited in me, and I thought, “Maybe. Just maybe she could be the person to truly help me.” After making contact with Samantha, I was up front with my disability, which was my main concern. Not only was she willing to help me, she actually researched CMT! This impressed me so much that I knew that this coach/trainee relationship was meant to be. I started at the end of May with my workouts. She has tailored each workout to help me, and I am feeling so much better about myself because I’ve started working out again. Samantha has been such a cheerleader along the way, and I am so grateful for her help, trust, and support. If you are on the fence, I highly recommend her program. I’ve not found anyone so helpful as her. Bethany Sam is great! She has so much practical knowledge that’s rooted from her own physical transformation. She gently nudges you to get out of your comfort zone to reach your goals. But has also navigated a health and fitness journey personally, so understands how challenging it can be at times. She’ll be your biggest cheerleader and give gentle accountability when needed and is always available! I’ve lost almost 20lbs sustainably working with the goal of more and feel so strong.
