Hi, my name is Sage. I'm 24-years-old, born and raised in Raytown Missouri. I have owned a gym the last year and a half and have a consistent 20 clients I train every month. I’m also the Strength and Conditioning coach for Raytown South High School. Slim Charlie’s Fitness is the name of my gym. Small gym, uplifting environment that welcomes all is our motto!

I am a D1 athlete and I graduated from Raytown High School this year! If you’re looking for a someone to get you ready for a college athlete or just a solid workout Sage is the trainer for you! I can confidently say that I am ready for the D1 level with Sages training, not only that all of my knee pain I use to get it nonexistent!

I met Sage through his cousin who just happened to help out at my job for a few days and asked me to come to a workout class with her where her cousin is the trainer. I’m not going to lie, the very fist class I did was tough but, Sage was so nice and kind. He made the workouts easy to understand and he never has an issue answering any questions you may have. He definitely knows his stuff! Group sessions are always a fun time and he does private sessions as well which is awesome if you have certain goals you want to reach. I’ve been working out with Sage for close to two years now and have no regrets! Definitely don’t plan on stopping anytime soon either. I love having Sage as a trainer. He’s helped me accomplish so much and I couldn’t do it without his motivation.
Sage is one of the kindest, motivating and inspiring people I have ever met. I decided to get in to better health after a surgery last fall. I started in January barely able to do a sit up, and complete the 45 minute sessions with out needing recovery days. Sage started me off with Two sessions a week and was so encouraging, he’s always pushing you to the next level, telling you how great your doing and great. With his guidance and encouragement I started going to the gym myself on off days. Sage noticed and started to work me in to another day of training. Since January I have lost so many inches and pounds, but the sense of empowerment about my bossy that Sage has taught me it the greatest win. Everyone in Sages gym is encouraging, push you when you need it and celebrate your wins. I’m constantly trying to get others to work out with him (aunts, cousins, friends) as I feel that he brings out the best in you and is a bright spot in the gym community. Since working out with Sage I now see the gym as a refuge against a long day and I work out 4-5 times a week and look forward to my sessions and the friends I’ve made there.
Sage really benefited my overall weight loss journey. His training techniques alongside his specific meal plans for my goal, really helped me excel at getting to where I needed to be. His prices were within budget and I loved that I was able to contact him via text at anytime time needed the extra boost of motivation or just a daily pep talk. Thanks Sage!! Sage is absolutely incredible! I was initially very hesitant to walk in the door, let alone commit to training. Not having a lot of athletic experience, Sage is great at patiently walking me through exercises repeatedly before increasing complexity or weight so I don’t get hurt. He has been flexible about scaling movements on the fly. And even though he makes me do so many crunch varieties that I want to curse, I now look forward to going to the gym after just 2 months! Sage is always upbeat and you won’t regret a workout (or several) with him.
Talking about Sage begins with his gym, Slim Charlie’s in Raytown, Mo. It is a real “old school” gym, not a barn like “fitness center”. Part owner Sage conducts classes but also 1 to 1 personal training. As a client of many months Ihave first hand experience. And, as assuredly as his oldest gym member/training client, I know of his skill in assessing each trainee’s fitness level, goals, and creating a plan for success. Despite his youth he is experienced and he himself a life long learner in his profession. I endorse him and encourage you to drop by and see him. I guarantee his enthusiasm is contagious!
When I started out with Sage I was scrawny and did not know a thing I was doing. I definitely got my butt kicked the first time we got together but that was what got the fire started in me. Years later I am into body building and it started with Sage. He is one of the nicest guys you will meet and has a TRUE passion about this industry, I recommend Sage to anyone that wants to get in the gym.

My wife and i just started with Sage 3 weeks ago looking to get a jump start back in the gym. I find his approach low key and non-intimidating. At the same time he has the ability to push you to your limits. Our workouts are varied and intense. Highly recommend you check him out for your training needs.
Sage helped me so much. He trained me on deadlifts and squats. My form is all but perfected now, because of him. I couldn't recommend him more.
