Hi, my name is Rob. I am originally from West Virginia and my love for fitness developed while living on a medical school campus with my girlfriend. When we moved to Jacksonville for her residency with St. Vincent's hospital in 2012, I pursued a career in personal training. I have worked within a studio gym at an apartment complex as a freelance trainer with residents of the community, as a boot camp instructor in local outdoor locations, and as a one-on-one trainer within client's homes. At present, I work out of a studio gym that I own, with cardio equipment (Rower, Skier, Air Runner, Climber, Air Bike), strength training equipment (power rack, full array of dumbbells and specialty bars) and HIIT goodies (battle ropes, inertia wave, HIIT AXLE, etc) at my disposal. Located on the Westside of Jacksonville.

A typical training session is a bit difficult to describe thanks to an individual client's interests are paramount, but I love to incorporate body weight exercises, resistance bands, core work, and a mix of cardio circuits (footwork drills, jump training, etc). Based on a client's ultimate goals, I have no issue adapting my 'typical' to meet whatever obstacle stands between my client and their feelings of accomplishment.
One of my best success stories features a co-worker of my girlfriend who was also facing limited availability--and even less interest in fitness. Thanks to a pending wedding and a desire to not only look the part in a tuxedo and a willingness to revert bad habits developed while in medical school, this client committed to 6 A.M. workouts four days a week. In the beginning, things were difficult. Rest periods were long and soreness was prominent. But over time, the early-morning workouts transitioned from being work to being routine. Over the course of a year, the change in the mirror was drastic. Though this client relocated recently, we remain in touch, bonded over our shared experience during those many pre-dawn sessions.

Great experience working with Rob. He’s genuine, friendly, and knowledgeable about what exercises and muscles will be best to train. He was really good at sensing when things were getting a little too easy for me and pushed me to do more while also understanding when I was reaching my limit and changing things up.
