www.beccapaulfitness.com I used to dread working out. Even so, I tried. I would hop on and off of treadmills and elliptical machines here and there, never making any measurable progress. I first learned about strength training through YouTubers like Nikki Blackketter and Whitney Simmons. When I was 17 years old, I wanted to look like the YouTubers that I looked up to. But I couldn’t do one push up, and I didn’t know the first thing about squatting or bench pressing. The gym I frequented at that time offered trial personal training sessions. I decided I had nothing to lose. Once my trainer showed me to how to lift weights properly, I became hooked. While I started my fitness journey with purely aesthetic goals and aspirations, working out became so much more than chasing a certain “look.” Workout after workout, my strength increased. This strength carried over to other aspects of my life. I felt more confident, outgoing, and powerful. I had less anxiety and I noticed myself taking more risks. I have made it my life’s mission to share the physical and mental benefits of exercise with others. I studied Organizational Sciences and Psychology in college with every intention of securing a job at a large company like Deloitte or Amazon. But I knew deep down that I would end up becoming a personal trainer. One of my goals as a personal trainer is to provide you with a great foundation. I will teach you about correct form and technique. I will teach you about proper nutrition. I will teach you about stretching, strength training, and cardio. Physical changes are actually quite simple to achieve when you stick to a few basic guidelines. My main goal, however, is to help my clients achieve a healthy mindset around fitness and wellness. I aspire to show you that you can find balance and happiness in fitness. Fitness does not have to be about restriction and fatigue. I know what it’s like to dread going to the gym. I want to show you what it’s like to leave the gym feeling strong and empowered, ready to conquer anything.
