Hi, my name is Rakim Cox. I am a former NFL defensive end (Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers) and current NFL Free Agent! I have over 8 years of training experience!
I've traveled the country and have trained with, and have been trained by, some of the best athletes and trainers there are from pro bodybuilders to pro athletes. I specialize in working with children and adults ranging from all ages, male and female, helping them to achieve their desired athletic, fitness and health goals.

What to Expect
I like to do urban training as well as gym training. Urban as in hills, stairs, sand, fields,track etc. These are crucial for burning fat, getting super lean and getting in top shape. I also resort to a bodybuilding style of weight lifting, high volume nice and slow controlled reps to build pounds and pounds of muscle. I traveled to San Diego for work during a 6 week period over the Fall. While I was there I trained with Rakim. I worked out 4x a week at night after I got done at work. Within 3 weeks I noticed I dropped 4lbs. But my arms, chest, shoulders got noticeably bigger. And after 5 weeks I gained back the weight I had lost. My abs were rock hard and defined. Rakim knew exactly what he was talking about, especially having professional football experience. I told him my goals: stay around the same weight but get as cut up as possible and have better conditioning. Obviously eating is key, but having a smart/ motivating trainer who cares about your goals as much as you do, is why I reached my goals in such a short time frame. I used to take group classes 3 days a week in a gym and my progress plateaued. I reached out to Rakim because I wanted to get more lean and work on improving cardio.
I began working with Rakim 4x a week for one hour sessions. The workouts were tailored to my goals, so I could improve on my weaknesses. He was attentive, professional and very good about correcting my form. Our workouts varied, so I was never bored. We worked with barbells, machines, kettle bells, body weight exercises, and did beach agility workouts. In two months time my body fat dropped 2.5 percent and I am leaner than I have ever been.
