Training in the gym is just like any life endeavor; you can try picking up the basics yourself, but to do it safely and effectively you need a coach. I can offer myself as a coach to help you with your goals whether it’s to lose fat, become stronger, get more fit, increase athleticism, or just increase your overall health. My name is Phil and I’ve been training for over 10 years. Over these years, I’ve read and tried all kinds of methods to try and become stronger, faster, and healthier. Based on this experience, and what I learned through the process of getting my Personal Trainer certification from NASM, I’ve been able to hone an approach that I know is a healthy and effective way of training. I would like to share this knowledge with you and help you reach your fitness goals. I don't have any affiliation to a gym, but I do have an area that I work out of my garage, which is where I do 90% of my training. I have plenty of space, a squat rack, bars, and weights. If you don't have much experience with free weights don't let that stop you. The first few training sessions will be focused on learning some basic movements and then building from there. Lifting will always be done safely so we will focus on increasing your range of motion before the more advanced lifts come into play.
National Academy of Sports Medicine
We will start with a warm-up that will last about 10 minutes. From there we will go into strength type work, which will last 35-45 minutes. The strength work will be kept at a decent pace so there will be a cardio aspect to it. Some days there will be a finisher, which will last 5-10 minutes, and focuses on conditioning. And we will always try to finish with a 5 minute stretch/cool down, which will focus on mobility work to fix any soreness or deficiencies.
