About Me

Hi, my name is Pete. I am a supramaximal exercise practitioner and fitness and nutrition geek who has completely abandoned the gym for high-intensity, body weight training techniques. I cracked the diet and exercise code about 10 years ago after slogging through the usual gyms and injuries. I had to get lean with a lot of muscle to shoot a TV pilot. The pilot went nowhere, but my fitness took off! Now, I am leaner, healthier, stronger, and faster than I have ever been. If I can do it, you can do it.

Helping my fellow man achieve fitness and athleticism is my true passion. I transitioned to full-time fitness training 9 years ago, Since then, it's been lots of private clients and even more classes in parks, on beaches, and on stairs. Over 3,000 classes and 1000's of personal training sessions. No repeats of workouts, no exercise-related injuries, lots of six-packs, lots of fit and happier people.

Someone recently asked me what I would do if I won the lottery. My answer was that I would open a training facility to reach more people. Until that happens, let me work with you to focus on your individual goals.

What to Expect

You should an excellent, well-structured, informative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic session with a trainer who is 100% focused on getting you better while keeping your session fresh and interesting. A client should expect me to show up on time with a printout of a customized workout plan for the day's session. That workout will be unique...I never repeat a workout, so you'll always be guessing. Expect me to bring all of the gear that we will need for our session. I will also perform most of the work with you. This serves to provide you with pacing, form, and to stimulate your mirror neurons.

Client Success Story

A recent client was 30 lbs overweight and wanted to run the LA Marathon. We started training 2x/week in January....at first she could barely run around the block. By the time of the marathon (6 months later) she dropped the excess weight and completed her first marathon. A funnier story happened earlier this year, as well. A client invited a friend to train at one of our sessions. Halfway through the session, the friend said, while laying on the floor (in a foreign language), "Whatever you are paying this guy...it's worth it." Their relationship changed after that day, and the friend now shows my client far more respect.

Background: I'm a man in my fifties who hasn't done any regular exercise in probably 20 years.

I started seeing Pete 1-on-1 in January 2018. He is very down to earth and straight forward. He quickly assessed where I was, and put together a customized workout plan for our sessions. We meet at a park near my house, because as Pete says "gyms are stupid." The workouts are bodyweight and hiit based. He pushes me, but doesn't use shame or yelling. He's was very empathetic when I tweaked my ankle and smoothly adjusted the workouts to crush my shoulders and arms instead.

Slowly, over the weeks I got stronger. After a month, I started joining his boot camp classes on the beach at 6am, they are very challenging, and there are people who are way fitter than I am, but I am able to adjust and do more and more every week.

I'm currently working out six days a week with this guy. I now weigh as much as I did in college, and I'm much, much stronger. I can really say this has changed my life for the better, and if you're interested at all, you should check it out.

I have been training with Pete since 2013. He's one of a kind. His enthusiasm is infectious...he's very positive. I'm in better shape now than I was in my 20's training for a marathon. Pete has unlocked the code. His HIIT training style can be tailored to all levels. It's a challenging yet so rewarding workout. And, Pete is there by your side the entire time...training alongside you. That's just not the norm. I highly recommend this workout to everyone...anyone who wants to reach pinnacles. And, it's not just about the sweat. Pete is very knowledgeable with diet and will help you shed the weight if that's your goal. He will change your life (no kidding)!

I started doing the group workouts and absolutely fell in love with Pete's style and the group itself. Pete's hardcore about training and will push you, but his gentle spirit and overall demeanor is unique. He won't let you get away with NOT pushing yourself, but he's not screaming at you like a military drill sergeant either. His boot camps are positive experiences -- I highly recommend them. But I also train with him individually on a weekly basis. We never do the same workout. It's just as challenging as the group workouts but specifically tailored to my individual needs and always fun! The best thing about Pete is, he gets your body in shape -- and somehow along the way, your spirit gets in-check too. Honestly one of the best trainers/coaches I've ever had -- and I've had many in my life since I was a kid. I can't recommend him enough.
