Hi, my name is Oluwaseun but I go for OLU for short. I am currently a Penn State University student majoring in kinesiology (the study of the body) in the exercise science option with a year and a half left of schooling. I started out training my body my freshman of college to make the varsity football/wrestling team of my school. I put on about 20lbs of muscle in about 4-5 months before try-outs. Unfortunately I got cut off from both teams due to NCAA. (I'll explain once we meet). My passion for training was not discovered till my sophomore year of picking my major. I was asked by my adviser to pick a profession, where I would not mind being paid for my services for a couple of days. I thought about it and how I helped my fellow classmates in the gym. I joined Penn State’s fitness staff the same year and have been training since then. Throughout my training experience I have trained the student body, collegiate athletes, the faculty staff, and currently your every day working American. I actually think training is kind of easy but what may be challenging would be motivating clients to their goals, making the session fun, and giving results for clients to return for more.
Warm-up phase: 3-5min Workout phase: 35-40mins Cool-down/stretch phase: 10-15min
My trainee and I started about 6 months ago weighing in at 260lbs, with a eating habit that was very poor, sedentary life style, and with no experience in the gym. For the 6 months we have been working together, we would meet at a fitness center about 3 times a week for 35-40 minutes of moderate-vigorous training. When we were not meeting I would assign homework (exercise) to be completed (low-moderate intensity). We adjusted the diet by allowing all foods both healthy and unhealthy to be consumed, but only in moderation (Increase important foods that are missing). After 6 months my trainee is currently about 215lbs and with new goals on to building muscle mass.
