Hi, my name is Mike. I stayed active in college playing intramural sports and weight training. After college while I stayed somewhat active I did find the challenge of working 60+ hours a week pushed my workouts to the back burner. Through the years my fitness declined and I slowly gained weight. In December 2010 I made a decision to commit to a complete lifestyle change and became truly active and healthy once again. The first race I completed was a “Warrior Dash” in May 2011 and since then I have dropped over 40 pounds and consistently compete and place in the top 5 of my age group in 5k and 10k road and trail races. I consistently place in the top 5-10% in Spartan sprint and super, Xterra dualathon, barbarian challenge and various obstacle races. I am a avid trail runner and have completed multiple ultra marathons and now enjoy pacing runners during various events. I run 2-3 days a week with my female black lab Millie and train 3-5 days a week with a high intensity workout. I look forward to the opportunity to help anyone ready to change to a truly active and healthy lifestyle.

A typical training session encompasses a warm-up, quality movement patterns, strength and what I call the funzone (cardio/respiratory response). House Family Fitness encompasses methodology for General Physical Preparedness (GPP). What is GPP? GPP is training to improve all aspects of fitness.
I've worked with many clients and the most success I've enjoyed with them comes from truly functional success. Successfully getting in and out of a wheelchair (even not having to depend on daily use), being able to work in your garden without pain and not needing assistance to get out of the car are some of the success different clients have achieved with my training program.
