I am a graduate of Salem State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science. I am A.C.E. Certified and have been personal training for over ten years. I have worked with clients of all ages, 14-75 years old. I do personal training and small group training with an emphasis on variety and keeping workout exciting. As part of personal training, I tailor workouts to the specific needs of each individual, keeping injuries and personal goals in mind. I am committed to helping my clients become the best versions of themselves through exercise and living healthier lifestyles. My knowledge and a strong passion for fitness are a direct reflection of my clients achieving their personal fitness as well as mental goals. Recently I started my own personal training business, Optimal Fitness, with the hope of branching out further on my quest to better the lives of my clients. In my spare time I write blogs on trending topics about both fitness and nutrition, mainly an emphasis on nutrition.

What to Expect

A typical training session consists of being yelled at, berated, and insulted. No, i'm just kidding about 2/3 of those. You will however be pushed and educated in every way possible. Reaching the goals that you want does not come easy. I will ensure, however, that you reach those goals because I might care more than you do.

Optimal Fitness is great! Matt is by far the best trainer I have ever used. He works hard for his clients to help them exceed their goals. His classes are challenging and he is a great motivator. One of the things that I like the most about Matt is that you will really trust his knowledge and will never worry about being pressured into buy more sessions.

Matt honestly wants his clients to succeed and he will push you to do things you didn’t believe were possible. After two back to back pregnancies and serious thyroid problems, I gained a lot of weight. For the first time in five years, I am happy with the way I look!

Five years ago I joined a gym and I was asked to meet with a personal trainer, which, at the time, I grudgingly did. Little did I know how much would change after that chance meeting with Matt. I started personal one-on-one training with him and continue it to this day. I also participate in his Burn group which is a great way to work out with others and dare I say it, have fun too. Matt also helped me with proper nutrition. The experience has been amazing. I’ve lost so much weight and I am fitter than I have ever been in my entire life. I’m able to do things I would have never thought possible, like lifting weights, multiple push-ups, sit-ups, and I’ve even run several 5K’s! I now really enjoy working out. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Matt pushing me to do more than I thought I was capable of. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made!
