Hi, my name is Matt. My humble beginnings in the fitness industry began when I was 16-years-old working as a childcare attendant at world’s gym. Shortly after I achieved three personal training certifications, several specialty fitness instructor certifications, and more recently Olympic lifting for sports performance and three CrossFit certifications. My fitness management experience ranges from public, private, non-profit, faith-based, corporate, and university recreational sports and fitness centers. I have education from Texas A&M University, Corps of Cadets, Air Force ROTC Officer’s Training School, and a BS from The University of Houston in Sports Administration with a minor in Health Promotions. I’ve developed corporate wellness programs, created SOP’s for several fitness clubs, and trained/instructed independently throughout Houston. My main gig currently is at the Houstonian Club as a personal trainer, group ex instructor (cycle, yoga, rowing, VIPR, HIIT, and elderly fitness), youth sports conditioning coach, and studio 360 trainer. I’ve had my own wellness business, Bwell Health and Fitness LLC since 2007, assisting others with nutrition, fitness, and wellness. “Train for life, not just for the mirror…” My passion is helping others achieve overall wellness and balanced lifestyles through fitness, nutrition, and healthy choices. Over the years I’ve become more intrigued with behavior change for wellness, while also seeking out innovative and alternative methods of cross training. I’m always researching and staying up to date with the newest trends, while also making sure they have proven and safe results. I’m versatile in who I like to train ranging 5yr olds to 85yr olds and varying personality types. I look forward to assisting you in your health and wellness goals!
