I grew up in Houston, TX. When I was three I started dancing. I trained in and performed ballet, jazz, tap, modern and contemporary. For 15 years dance was my passion. However, when I moved to Austin I stopped dancing and started working out and lifting. I became fascinated with the human body and all the amazing things it can achieve. At that point I immersed myself in learning about fitness and nutrition. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and discovering their hidden strengths.
I like to begin with a 5-10 minute warm-up consisting of dynamic stretches, a bit of cardio and sometimes Yoga. We will move into a full body workout tailored to the client's goals. This may consist of plyometrics ("jump" training), interval training, weight training and/or body weight exercises. I tend to wrap things up with core work and stretching.
We will call her Sam. Sam wanted to take back control of her life. She realized her eating and lack of exercise was preventing her from doing the things she loved. She reached out and began training with me. During her first fitness test she walked most of a mile, completed two push-ups and demonstrated limited range of motion. Not to mention her extreme lack of confidence and constant put downs. Today, she has reached her primary goal weight and beyond! She is proud of her body (and her muscles). She can run a mile without stopping and can complete more than 20 push-ups in one go! She fits into her favorite outfits with ease. Her demonstration of confidence makes me feel like I am training a different person every session. I couldn't be more proud.
