My name is Lisa and I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer and small business owner. After graduating from the University of Dayton with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I joined the United States Army as an aviation officer. I spent seven years in the Army flying numerous helicopter platforms, but always loved fitness and the "high" that I would get from it. After the Army, it was time to start a family and think about next career in aviation. I received my Masters in aviation science from Embry-Riddle University but still felt that something was lacking. So in 2009 I decided to follow my fitness passion and become a certified personal trainer. After receiving my certification, my husband and I decided that opening our own business would be the best avenue since it would allow for more flexibility in scheduling. That is how Lisa Barnes Fitness, LLC was created. Currently, Lisa Barnes Fitness. LLC’s services include in-home 1-on-1 personal training services and small group boot camps. My favorite client success story: I had a 300+ 19 year old college student that was smart and funny but had pretty low self esteem. After training for about 3 months, she had lost over over 20 pounds and 30 inches from her whole body. It was amazing to watch not only her body transform but also her attitude!
American Counsil on Exercise
At the first session, we will sit down and talk about your goals, expectations and limitations. I will take measurements and then we will work out. Every workout will be a full body strength training workout from head to toe. We can also add in a cardio portion along with the strength training at any time.
