Hi, my name is Korbi. Overall well being is a passion of mine. I believe it includes our physical, emotional and mental health, as each can contribute to a feeling of "dis-ease". I came to embrace this idea of health and wellness through some deeply personal experiences. It is my desire to take the knowledge I have gained and use that to help others. In working with my clients, one of the first things I tackle is uncovering what I have come to understand as a core belief. A core belief is simply a belief that we may have that is getting in the way of us achieving our goals and having the life we dream about. Once we realize what that is and take the steps to change it, we set a course to greater happiness, personal empowerment and self esteem. It is my goal to inspire, uplift and encourage you as well as hold you accountable every step of the way. I love what I do. I am dedicated. I care.

Initially, we will meet in order to discuss goals, expectations and needs. If we both feel we are a good fit, that's SUPER important for you and for me, we will continue with an assessment. The assessment will include a lifestyle questionnaire, form analysis and baseline measurements. From there, I will develop a 30 day plan based on both our conversation and the assessment. The content of each session will vary based on the needs of the client. A typical session will include a prescribed warm up, core/balance, specific exercises followed by a cool down/flexibility. Each week we will review our successes as well as our challenges and I will make changes accordingly. This is a group effort, your input, physically and emotionally, is important to me.
Anne, age 64, came to me because she had recently retired as a school teacher and had lost some functionality and gained some weight due to a medical condition. Her weight, along with extreme muscle weakness, limited her from moving around and even doing a simple thing such as tying her shoe. Anne had 2 grandchildren and wanted to be able to be active, as well as get up and down from the floor to play with them. We started slow and worked on her balance and mobility as well as strengthening her arms and legs. We did such functional movements as standing up from a seated position, pulling a weighted rope, lifting a weight from a low to high location, challenge ladders and walking. After working with her for a year, the changes were remarkable. I will never forget the day she called me and wanted to stop by to show me the bike her daughter bought for her. Anne had gone from not being able to climb stairs in her home to riding a bike, taking long walks with her family and doing the laundry by herself. I still keep in touch with her today, even though we don't live close anymore and she is no longer my client. I love hearing the happiness in her voice and seeing pictures of her family.
