I am a queer certified fitness trainer, personal coach and actor! Originally from Kansas, I made my way east working in theatre and fitness before putting down roots in NYC where I live with my fiancée! I am a NASM-certified personal trainer and PROnatal Specialist who enjoys paving the way for clients who can find the gym setting intimidating or inaccessible. I have hands-on experience training diverse clientele ranging ages 22 to 71 and various gender identities, including those who are pregnant, returning to fitness post-injury, training for FBI and NYFD physical fitness tests, and everyone in-between. I formed Pressnall Training to develop my own style and approach to fitness outside of the corporate gym world. I am a friend, a tough coach, and a cheerleader for my clients. Each session begins by asking how my client is doing - aches, pains, outside stressors, etc. I care about my client and the session wouldn't be personal if it wasn't catered to where they are at in life. From there, we begin a warm up and I describe the layout of the upcoming exercises. I demonstrate each move and time or count the exercise. I offer suggestions, regressing or progressing modifications, and encouragement throughout. I am open to altering my plan to suit the day. We end with a 3-5 minute cooldown and make a plan to meet again. I am also available for calls or texts between sessions for fitness related queries.
A client, who I'll call "S" came to me with the intention of losing weight. S was insecure about her fitness ability and appearance. We've been working together for four months now and she's lost a significant amount of weight. More importantly though, even when she plateaus or struggles with nutrition or exercise, she has a more positive view of her body. She trusts it to move in the ways she needs to move. She feels stronger, more energetic, and more excited to come to sessions. We went from executing a 15 second shaky plank, to a strong 1 minute plank with progressing variations.
