About Me

My name is Kelley and I have a BS exercise science from West Chester University. I have been working in the fitness field for over 20 years and I have been personal training for 12-15 years. In 2006, I completed an ACE (American Council on Exercise) personal training certification. In the last 15 years, I have been able to work with both healthy clients and those whom have specific restrictions or special needs.

In 2007, I completed both NETA (National Exercise Training Association) certification for group aerobics and Madd Dogg Athletics for Spinning. Currently, I teach Pilates, body sculpting and spinning classes at the YMCA. I have taught all types of group classes: Boot-Camp, Pilates, circuit, body-sculpting and spinning classes.

I enjoy helping all types of clients/members get fit and healthy. I have trained younger children and I have helped them with sports specific training along with helping overweight adults learn better eating habits and helping them to live a healthier lifestyle.

What to Expect

A typical training session will include: A light warm-up (cardio conditioning for 5-10 minutes) along with stretching major muscles: quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes, hip flexors and upper body stretches. Then I would design a program based on one's specific goals and/or orthopedic restrictions. An average client who is trying to lose weight: I will have them do 2-3 sets of higher reps and make sure we target the large muscles with the smaller muscles (multiple muscles will help their metabolism.)

- Wall Squats with Hammer curls
- Moving O band squats with side/front delt raises
- Theraband outer thigh walks with upright rows
- Step-ups with Db presses -alternate legs
- Stab Ball Rows on the Cable or DB
- Push-ups on the floor or Bar
- Tricep overhead Ext or push-downs on the Cable
- Abs on the SB or Planks
- Stretch to cool-down

I have been training a client at the YMCA for over 2 years and she has lost over 50lb-60lb in the last 2 years, She was wearing a size 18 and now she wears a size 8-10. This client has also been working with My fit foods and eating clean and healthy to help her weight loss. She is both mentally and physically stronger now and feels so, much better about herself. This month she completed her first half marathon and I was very proud of her for achieving this fitness goal!
