About Me

Hi, my name is Justin. Fitness has always been a part of my life, I love helping people achieve their goals! I work hard and love to see people work hard as well. When I was 14 I was in a jet-ski accident with involving my best friend and I. I almost lost my leg, but the doctors were able to save my leg by inserting a titanium rod and 4 bolts in my femur bone. That experience really showed me to cherish what we have and never expect things to be handed to you. Before getting into personal training I helped friends get in shape. For a couple of years I went to school for nursing and found it wasn’t what made me happy, I then went to EMT school and found that still didn’t make me happy. I then went to school and received my certification for Phlebotomy; every time I went to school I always ended up back with what makes me happy- Fitness.

After getting certified through PFTA for Nutrition and Personal Training, I went off to work for Fitness 19. I started as a personal trainer for about 6 months and then was promoted to Fitness Manager. After being Fitness Manager for 6 months I decided it was time to go on my own and started personal training. I taught personal training class for 3 years for people who want to become trainers and now own STRIVE to be FIT LLC. I love making people feel good about themselves!! The background behind fitness training means achieving fitness and balance on three levels: emotional (The Mindset), spiritual (The Motivation), and physical (The Movement). When I train someone I make sure they understand that this is a lifestyle change and they should incorporate fitness into their whole life. Nutrition should be the next part to your lifestyle change, there is no quick fix to fitness, diet’s are just a quick fix and lead to failure. Take a minute to look at the first three letters to Diet, “D-I-E”. When you train with me I look for ways to help you incorporate nutrition into your life.

Camille- In 2015, my friend referred me to Justin for help with my chronic knee pain. I'd had little success in alleviating my pain through numerous treatments up to that point and was initially skeptical he'd be able to help me. When I first began training with him, I felt incredibly limited in the physical activity I could do and was perpetually afraid of injuring myself. I had always been active when I was younger but no longer felt physically strong enough to be as active as I wanted. Justin challenged me to break out of my comfort zone from the first day I started training with him. He was attentive in guiding me through my continued fears and physical limitations, yet he constantly pushed me harder than I felt I was capable of. Through working with him, I became empowered by regaining my strength and learning more about my health. Over time, my chronic knee pain dissipated until one day when it stopped. I began running short sprints and worked my way up to a 5K, 10K, and eventually a half marathon. In retrospect, it is beyond incredible what he has helped me achieve over the past two years. When I first came to him, I expected that he'd be able to help lessen my chronic pain at best. I certainly didn't expect him to enable me to return to long-distance running, much less empower me in the numerous ways that he has. He has given me the ability to live my life again, and I'm forever grateful to him.
