Hi, my name is Julie. Previously I was part owner of a software development company, but after ten years I sold my portion of the business and switched careers to the fitness industry. Along with my personal training certification through American College of Sports Medicine, I have three years of experience working with adults and seniors in a health gym setting. In August I will get certified as a senior fitness specialist which encompasses classes in balance exercises, chronic health issues, increasing cognitive functions and independent living issues. I was also the lead trainer for the Cancer Survivor Program at the YMCA. In addition, I have experience working with clients with chronic health issues such as MS, Parkinson's disease and cerebral palsy. In my personal life have practiced Krav Maga for 5 years and have created and taught self defense seminars for women as well as kid. In addition, I have a Master’s degree in Psychology which I utilize often in my work to effect behavior changes and create a comfortable atmosphere for my clients. Along with Krav, my personal workouts typically include running, esp in the trail, weight lifting and HIIT.

What to Expect

A typical session will include a warm and cool down. The middle workout depends largely on your goals. Intensity, exercises and equipment will all depend on what you want to accomplish. If possible I like to combine strength and cardio in to each workout. I will check in with you regularly to see how you are feeling and I am always watching form so there are no injuries.

I worked with a man who has MS and had increasingly poor leg drop. After working with him for 6-8 months he told me he no longer needed to use the railing to go up the stairs at work. After 8-10 months he went on a trip in which he could climb ladders into the pueblos in New Mexico. He was thrilled and texted me that day. It was very exciting to me to see how his life hag changed due to our work together!
