Health and Wellness has been a major aspect of my life in recent years. In 2014, I weighed 250 pounds. After 18 months of hard work, I weighed in at 191 lbs. I understand the power of proper exercise and good nutrition; and I know how good it feels to make a lifestyle change and to experience the positive results. I enjoying giving my clients the ability to have that exact experience for themselves. As far as my qualifications, I have a Bachelor's Degree from Gettysburg College in Health Sciences, an ACSM Personal Training Certification, and I will be attending Drexel University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in the Fall.

A typical training session is one-hour long. The sessions are completely private and are held at Better and Better Fitness, located at 2227 Amber St., Philadelphia, PA. The session is usually a part of a scripted program that I create for each of my weekly clients and fits in perfectly with the client's individual goals.
"I started working with Joe a few months back for issues I was having with my knees while training for a half marathon. I had an excellent experience. He is really great at really getting to the root of your issues and personalizing the training experience so that you get the most out of it, rather than just handing out general workouts. I'm feeling much better now and will continue to use Joe as a resource in the future. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for someone with a lot knowledge and experience to back up their training methods." - Maria Nicholson, Client in 2015.

Joe has an evidence based view of fitness and nutrition and backs up his views and workouts (and nutritional counseling) with research from peer reviewed journals. This was important to me. His approach is very personalized and based on an individual assessment. It’s not one-size-fits-all and it’s very thorough. The workouts are designed to strengthen weak areas and build a strong foundation. Then he helps you build on the foundation.
What I opted for was one personal session per week, which consists of one-on-one training, no other people present, in a well-equipped facility with ample parking. 3 prescriptive workouts per week focusing on my particular needs (and the workouts change as you progress), and nutritional counseling, which is quite detailed. He’s available via text/email as you have questions. Sessions are challenging but supportive, he’s not a drill-sergeant type but definitely pushes you. He has a long-term view of fitness and sets you up for long term success.
It is an intelligent approach to what is often a confusing endeavor. One quality I look for in people I hire or businesses I use is excitement. If someone is excited about what they’re doing I think it’s a great indicator of their work ethic and dedication to their clients. I definitely see that Joe is excited to use his academic and clinical knowledge and experience to improve peoples’ lives.
