I’m John and I’ve been a personal trainer for over 30 years. I specialize in post rehabilitation. I started in personal training because of the many injuries that I have had, but I come from an interesting place as a trainer because I have physical limitation myself. When I was 27 years old, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, or AS – a form of arthritis. I can relate firsthand to clients that have physical problems and I can teach them how to work around them. Over the years I have worked closely with physical therapists to continue client's therapy until they are 100% better. Proper form is essential to avoiding injuries. Together with strength, endurance and flexibility we can help avoid injuries in the future. I also do massage therapy which can help clients recover faster and get quicker results. I believe that the personal training session doesn’t have to be boring or super serious. Training shouldn’t feel like torture, you are much more likely to pursue your training longer and with more intensity if you like the experience. You should have someone who understands your goals. I have been working with John for many years and I think he is an amazing trainer. He has gotten me in the best shape of my life and he's worked with me thru my injuries helping me avoid a rotator cuff surgery and rehabbing a meniscus surgery and countless other bumps and bruises along the way. I have found that the way he teaches inspires me to want to learn more about my overall health. Philosophically, I'm holistic in my approach and he has been motivating with support and input. He doesn't preach, or shame anyone and finds that the sweet spot to encourage and help build on your goals.
I wouldn't choose anyone else to have helped me on my health journey. When I travel I take all the lessons and I'm able to navigate the different types of gyms and the wide varying types of equipment based on what I learned about each muscle/muscle group.
