Client Success Story

Jill was my trainer for about 6 months. When we first started training, I was a bit concerned because she was the very first personal trainer I had ever hired and I did not know what to expect. My chronic back pain made it difficult to continue my own workout routine. I wasn't really seeing any progress in the first place. It was clear I was in need of help. Off the bat, I could tell that she was a pro. She went above and beyond what I hd expected out of a trainer. Jill knew how to work towards my goals without irritting my back pain. She pushed me when needed, and knew when I needed a break, Most importantly, she always went the extra mile! When we started I couldn't do any pull-ups. I can now do 5 fairly easily. I weigh 250lbs so that was a big deal for me! I could only do about 3 good push-ups in the beginning. Now,I can easily do about 30 without breaking. My back, arms, legs, and shoulders are noticeably bigger and more defined. The only reason we stopped working together is because I had to move out of state and now my only concern is finding a trainer to meet the high staandards she's set!

I have worked with Jill 1.5 years so have experienced both in person and virtual training with her. I had never worked with a trainer before and Jill put any concerns I may have had to rest immediately. Jill really *listens* to me. She helped me set goals based on what I wanted to accomplish from my work with her: strength, balance and flexibility, all important for a 58 year old.

Each session has elements that work on all of these areas as well as cardio. Jill changes things up each week to keep it interesting and she is very adept at switching moves on the fly if a particular element is just not working for me. She never makes a big deal about it but simply says "in this round I want you to modify it this way" and on we continue. I have gone from tipping over when trying to do a particular set of moves to keeping my balance and having the strength to do push ups and planks.

As we moved to virtual, we both wondered how that would work. It has been terrific. While I miss the in person with Jill, our virtual sessions have gotten smoother over the months and the workouts are no less intense than they were in person. We have figured out the camera position so she can see me sitting or standing and that has eliminated moving the camera around with each transition. And, she is definitely watching as I get the reminders to square my hips and lower my shoulders just like in person. The elements in the sessions are also laid out a bit differently to reduce the transitions from floor to standing which helps with the flow. As I have told my friends, it is amazing what we accomplish with a few weights and a yoga mat in my living room.

I truly appreciate how she incorporates stretching into the entire training time with stretching after each round or after a particularly stressful series of moves. This combined with the end of session stretches leaves me feeling a good tired and not overly sore after each workout.

Jill is professional, dedicated and very invested in making my time spent working with her worthwhile and productive and I highly recommend her.

Jill is great to train with. Her workouts are creative but tough. She also includes stretching throughout the workout which lessens soreness the next day.

Jill has been working with me for a while and I couldn't ask for a better trainer. I have some health issues and she always finds ways to keep my training sessions different and new so I'm never bored. If there's something that I can't quite do, she finds a different way to do it. Jill makes sure that I'm happy and excited about the workouts!
