In the past 12 years of being a personal trainer I have worked with all different age groups and fitness levels. From teenagers to seniors, from rehabilitation to athletes, from pre to post-natal. I have worked in people's homes, fancy fitness centers, and fields. I have also worked in government building were I hosted health fairs, presented seminars, and held office competitions. Since each client has different needs I carefully design needs specifically for that client. I also factor in the activities that a client enjoys. For example if a client enjoys running, their program will focus on exercises to improve their running. I want clients to enjoy their workouts and feel that they have taken steps to improving their health. I believe that through personal training I can help educate clients to learn tools to help live healthier happier lives. Health and fitness is not just about improving your body but overall wellness such as stress, sleep, and confidence to improve many aspects of life. What I love the most about being a personal trainer is watching the joy clients get when they achieve goals or overcome fears. I also love to share in that joy.

What to Expect

Sessions are individualized and tailored to what the client wants wether that’s to become stronger by weight training or to become mobile and flexible through yoga and Pilates. Clients should enjoy their workouts and feeling likely they have accomplished something.

Client Success Story

One of my clients was a male in his 40’s who had been in the military for many years and suffered from PSTD, had high blood pressure, and had trouble sleeping. When I first met him he barely spoke to me. After working with him for about 6 months, not only did he gain muscle and lose weight but he started to have more discussions with me and other people in the gym he didn’t know. His boss was also a member (this was a corporate facility) and stated that my client was speaking up more in meetings and much more delightful to work with. This is a great example that exercising can impact other aspects in your life than just losing weight. He also got off of his blood pressure medication after working together after about a year and he slept much better which in turn made him feel more alert and productive at work.

I've been working with Jess for over two years and have seen major improvements in my strength, endurance and flexibility. Jess is always on-time for our sessions, communicates frequently and is more than flexible when it comes to scheduling. She's had to modify our workouts on several occasions due to foot and hip issues and she went above and beyond with researching new exercises and stretches to facilitate my recovery. She utilizes of ton of different equipment (bands, kettlebells, free weights, trx etc.) and types of workouts so I'm always challenged.

I always felt that she had prepared thoroughly for our sessions together and that the exercises she had me work on were aligned with my needs and requests. Jess is a great trainer -- she's prompt, she's understanding and she doesn't judge your body for the way it is. She modified exercises that I wasn't comfortable/in pain doing, she was patient when I got breathless and needed breaks and she corrected me when I was rushing/doing things without proper form. She's also easy to talk with as she works to relate to her clients. She also worked with me on my diet, sending me breakfast recipes complete with calorie information and why I needed to eat protein for breakfast. She accommodated my weird schedule, celebrated with me when I pushed myself to do better and even sent me a birthday card! I looked forward to my workouts with her and hope to work with her again in the future; the results of how I felt outweighed the physical results!
