My name is James and I'm a native Texas resident. I have been into health and fitness for several years and have the body and stamina to show for it. How I got into all of this was when I graduated from High School and started hitting the gym almost everyday. I started out weighing 135 lbs but now I weigh 186 lbs due to a good diet and exercise. I'm an ex-Navy Corpsman of 4 years and have implemented into my workout regimen some of the basic combat course workouts that I picked up while working with the Marine Corps. I recently started to get into bodybuilding competitions with my first ever being in September 2018's Heart of Texas Men's Classic Physique. As a true novice, I won first in my class! Now, I plan on continuing to compete while helping others reach their goals.
First and foremost, I will bring to the table a comfortable setting. This means one-on-one training. If you're nervous or feel intimidated by getting into shape, don't be. Everyone has to start somewhere and the best time is to start now. I promise you that after the first session, you will start to feel more confident in your strength and in yourself. Our first session we will do some evaluating on where you're fitness level is at, how comfortable you are with the training, go over any health-related issues you might have and then lastly get into it.
About 6 years ago before I left for the Navy, I used to go to a small community center in my hometown out in East Texas to workout due to accessibility and price. I met a middle-aged woman who felt like she was on her last-leg in her life. She had some health issues due to eating habits and her weight, she felt that her marriage was suffering because she didn't feel desirable and was even suffering from depression due to the first 2 issues. I spotted her looking confused on how one of the weight machines worked and I felt like she needed help. We spoke off and on when I would see her at the gym and eventually she asked if I could help train her. I agreed and as for compensation, I had her just buy me lunch or pay for my protein drinks as I was already planning on leaving for the Navy. To me, she wasn't a client but more of a friend in need. We trained for several weeks up to a couple of months and she was determined to make a difference in her life. Before I left, she had already lost 30 lbs and was a completely different woman. She had a skip in her step, so-to-speak, and was a much happier person from first we met. I still have her number and if she has questions about workout routines or even some questions on nutrition, I'm there to help.
