My early childhood involvement of martial arts(JKD) and being one of those "why?" children yielded great results of defaulted knowledge. I quickly realized that knowing WHAT moves the body and allows it to move under 'structured stress' somehow caused an ease of performing intermediate athletic skill that resulted in an ENHANCEMENT of ALL "basic" bodily functions. This means that Thought, Breath, Motion and Effort are ELEVATED in status of function. Ironically when the body is in this state it will have an effective defense against most 'organic' viruses. This profession isn't a mere "job" with me. Its a TASK that I'm honorably obligated to perform be there an industry for it or not. Some call it a passion, maybe, I just know that I have to do this specific service for me to feel as if I'm genuinely contributing to my utmost capacity.

What to Expect

We will start with building firm foundations of knowledge and intent. From there we will take every step required for you to reach your goal i.e. FUNCTIONALITY/FLEXIBILITY LIFESTYLE INDULGENCES MUSCULAR AWARENESS AND ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM ADHERENCE RESTORATION of PASSION and finally: FORWARDING the PRINCIPLES Once you've reached your goal is when your TRUE start begins. You will then guide yourself on a journey towards an Enhancement of Function from what was learned during your initial process. If you're the type who merely wishes to pay to be screamed at, it will come at a much higher cost, also (i don't do well with whiners). To avoid any headache arrive with at least a little passion and drive. We'll do the rest TOGETHER.

While at the YMCA Anthony Bowen D.C. a member by the name of David Lipscomb came in for consultation on development of ability. He had previously watched a program of Special Forces training during a promotion of the first Captain America movie at the time. He stated that he was inspired and wanted specific abilities of: 1.Being able to tote a 200lb person to safety down 5 flights of stairs without loss of breath. 2.Being able to run 1 mile in under 9 min. 3.An overall enhancement of strength and flexibility. 4.Look good naked. Over the course of the next year He and I trained every Sunday without fail and he also had "homework" assignments of training on his own. David proved to be a great catalyst for creation in my profession and life. We were able to develop an entire system of unique dynamic and strength motions and our sessions became a 'movement lab' if you will, with David's effort eventually promoting him from client to 'freshly knowledgeable peer'. I learned much from and because OF our sessions. David who already was an avid cyclist acquired strength gains and core control that he'd never possessed before.

Having worked with Mars almost every week since August on a weekly basis, I feel very qualified in offering my opinion. :) Each session lasts 30 minutes involving strength training and cardio. As far as enjoying it, I hate exercising, but he makes it fun and it is NEVER the same. I have watched the other trainers and they really don't have the knowledge or the passion that Mars brings to the workouts. My BMI has gone from 30 (yes, I know Obese) to almost 20. Woohoo! Could not have done it without Mars.

Mars is the first personal trainer that I have ever had. In the past, I have run or exercised on my own, with mixed results. So with YouFit opening last year in Richardson, I decided to try something new. I was paired with Mars, and I couldn't be happier. He is knowledgeable about eating and exercise, and about what worksm what doesn't, and why. His style of training uses 30 minute workout sessions of mostly body weight exercises coupled with high intensity, which is a combination that I enjoy and at 57, can still do. I have never been much for using weight machines - too boring - and we don't do any of that! Nothing is boring about a Mars personal training workout session! He pushes me, but in a nice way. And I'm seeing results! I've lost weight, and gained strength and flexibility - all personal goals. I guess that's the reason I'm here. Mars is a great guy. He's funny and very good at what he does which is motivating you to move! I would recommend him to everyone.

As a catastrophic stroke survivor, I was looking to regain strength, coordination and endurance to improve my bowling. Jamario was all in from the very first session and I've been working with him just over 3 months now. We started off easy and progressed through coordination treadmill drills and just started weight training. Our sessions were never easy; so, I always felt exhilarated after.

Jamario was not afraid to incorporate Tai Chi movements into my workout to help me with balance; we are still working toward my goals. He will look at what you want to accomplish and what is interesting to you to build a very personal program that works. When on his schedule, you will have his undivided attention and be pushed as far as you want to go.

Before the first day of working out with him, I couldn't even do one full diamond push up. After an hour with him, I went home was doing 10 diamond push ups without even realizing it until the end. He is a miracle worker.

Jamario is an excellent and very competent trainer. He is the ideal trainer for someone who hates to workout, plateaus easily, or simply gets bored with conventional workouts. Jamario's creativity is his strongest asset in that he can turn any equipment in any environment into a full body workout. He responds to feedback very well and can tailor your workout to any special needs, previous injuries, or weakness you may be looking to improve.

I came to him as someone who'd never worked out with any regularity and gradually became a gym rat. In the year that I trained with him, I more than doubled my strength in a matter of months. The first 8-10 weeks were quite brutal in that I was coming from a point of no strength, no endurance, no flexibility. During that period, Jamario regularly modified exercises so I that I could maximize my development without being discouraged by my initially poor performance. After that period I immediately and regularly saw results in both my performance and physical appearance.

Jamario is a trainer's trainer and more often than not worked out with me, making him a workout partner as much as a trainer, which greatly increased my motivation. Other trainers regularly inquired about our workouts, often borrowing many of the exercises that he developed. This contributed greatly to me shedding the self-consciousness that comes with working out in public among people who are much more advanced. I felt just as confident lifting half the weight of the other guys in the gym because I knew I was regularly making progress and knew I would eventually reach the goals I set for myself.

Jamario also understand balance--when to push, and when to advise rest. At one point, I ignored his advice to rest because I was excited about my progress. He warned me against it, but I insisted. Soon I noticed a decline in performance with exercises I had once done with ease. The moment I began listening to his advice, I got right back on track with my progress.

On top of all this, Jamario is reliable, professional, and personable. He's flexible and goes the extra mile to make his clients happy and produce results. You will not be disappointed training with him.
