Hello! My name is Jake and I offer personal training and 1-on-1 partner assisted stretching at Dirty Water Fitness in Cambridge, MA. I’ve been in the fitness space for over 10 years now and I understand it can be a difficult place to navigate. There is such a plethora of information (and competing opinions) on the internet about working out and nutrition that it can be incredibly overwhelming to start your fitness journey, let alone know how to maintain it and make it a part of your life. My job is to take the information I’ve learned over the past 10 years from acquiring a B.S. in Kinesiology, a personal training certification, and a stretch therapy certification, and curate it to your specific goals.

When you train with me, our goal is to get you stronger so you can do the things you like to do in life and not worry about strength or pain being a limiting factor. How will we do it? Personal Training - I train my clients with a combination of weight training, bodyweight training, static and dynamic stretching, and myofascial release techniques that are tailored to their individual goals and injuries. Strength and size are the goals all the while keeping joint health the top priority. and/or 1-on-1 Partner Assisted Stretching - 1-on-1 partner assisted stretching is a fantastic service for anyone, from the average person to an elite athlete, to recover from their workout, relax, and provide routine maintenance to their body. How it works is the client lies down on a massage table and we go through a structured, 30 minute or hour-long series of stretches with the goal of providing relaxation and increased range of motion to the client’s muscles.
My favorite thing one of my clients ever told me was that he went on an intense 2-day hike one weekend, and he told me he had no back or joint pain during or after. Sure, he was sore, but in terms of joint pain? None. We had only been training together for 2 months prior to that. These are the types of results that you can expect when you train with me.
