Hi, my name is Ian. I come from a teaching background. I have a Master’s in Educational Leadership and have worked closely with both children and adults. I’ve been involved with health and wellness for the majority of my life (never as an athlete; just as an average joe). Over 10 years ago, I decided to apply my teaching skill set to improve the health of others. Everything I do is based around the idea of understanding the “why” in all we do. It may seem counter-intuitive, but my goal is to ensure clients need me temporarily. I prefer that they choose to work with me as opposed to a feeling of necessity. Additionally, I’ve experienced many of the nagging injuries that many of us must navigate. After having both knees replaced at the same time, I realized the road to recovery (though hard), is possible. I’ve also recognized how imperative it is to grow our comfort bubble, instead of letting it shrink and limit our hobbies and past times.

What to Expect

A client can expect a detailed, individualized workout program that addresses mobility restrictions, compensations, asymmetries, and areas of instability. Before we load a movement pattern, we must ensure the pattern is efficient. This is where many trainers fall short. Instead of rushing the process, you can expect a deliberate path to long-term success. And for the athletes that believe they are beyond this process, once you are slowed down and your ability compensate is removed, you will appreciate the attention to detail.

Client Success Story

HW from Raleigh, NC successfully lost over 100 pounds, gained tons of self-confidence, and became way more confident in her movement patterns. AH from Columbus, OH not only became more agile and responsive, but also gained strength and power. All members at my current gym (B3 Strength & Performance) can share testimonials of a newfound love for strength training and the personal knowledge gained regarding their movement patterns.
