Hi, my name is Emilio, I am currently enrolled at Everglades University. I took up Complementary Alternative Medicine as a career after receiving my massage license, personal training, group fitness instructor, and strength and conditioning certifications. I complete my Bachelor’s education next year and hope to take my degree to the next level at either the local acupuncture school or the physical therapist program. Academically, I am interested in health and healing, specifically fitness and medicine. I’d like my career to revolve around sports, fitness, and alternative medicine, which I fondly call “the traditional systems of medicine”, for I believe in the power of the mind, body, and spirit to induce change personally. The capacity of the mind, body, and spirit to make someone happy or sad has impressed me so much. To me, those three aspects of the human person are like math wherein one has to master and know a workable formula to deliver the right message. I dedicate myself in providing help to clients who are having a difficult time achieving their goals. I also offer custom workouts for clients who want to train on their own but have issues coming up with workout plans. I provide efficient lessons and exercises that help clients develop their physical body and mental body. It is my vision for all people to once again appreciate the art training. With the magazines and commercials on television, I want people to realize that performance is worth more than aesthetics; feeling strong is worth more than looking strong. It is my mission to help clients slow down and truly understand that they are much stronger than they think they are.

What to Expect

Depending on the goal and aspirations of the client, expect anything from a good workout to being taken to your maximum limit. For the beginner, the first few sessions will consist of terminology, muscular actions, technical knowledge, and muscular function. For those who have training experience, the session will consist of determining the proper weight to allow the client to maintain proper form while still challenging the client to finish. For athletes and advanced clients, the session will consist of specified training, i.e., baseball players will start immediately training to increase baseball specific skills; martial artists will begin immediately with martial art specific training.

Client Success Story

My number 1 success thus far is with a client in California whom eventually became my friend. He was diagnosed with a mild form of CP (Cerebral Palsy) and wanted to get into combative sports since he had experience in wrestling. When he first started training he was lifting a 15lb kettlebell, had no flexibility, had poor technique in punching and kicking, and was had a low self esteem issue. After 2 years of consistent dedicated training he was snatching (one of the hardest kettlebell exercises) 40 pounds, hitting harder than he's ever hit, stronger than he's ever been, was successful in combative sparring, and most importantly, his self esteem was regulated.
