I'm Ellie. I never enjoyed gym class or sport at school and I always thought sports and being active weren't for me. It wasn't until my 30's that I discovered how much joy and other benefits I got from doing activities and being more active in my life. I love helping people who want to try out new things but need a helping hand. Those who think the gyms are scary or intimidating but want to learn the confidence to use them. Those who need an accountability partner to finally do a couch to 5k. Those who want to hike but are scared of doing it solo. My aim is to help people find things that they love to do and help them to lead more active and happier lives as a result.
For a first session I like to meet outdoors somewhere and go for a walk or a light jog to discuss goals. I have a very person centered approach where what we do each session will depend on those goals. But could include working through the couch 2 5k program. Increasing the distance you can walk, backed up with some strength and conditioning to help your stamina. I've even gone with a client to a third party yoga lesson that they didn't feel they could go to alone as they were too worried about it.
I helped someone who struggled to walk a mile, run a full 5k and gain the confidence to try out paddle boarding which was something they had always wanted to do but didn't feel strong enough or brave enough.
