Hello, my name is Derek nd I look forward to leading you to your fitness goals! I received my personal training certification and biomechanics of resistance training certification from the Cooper Institute in Dallas, TX, and my Personal Trainer Fitness Certification from NESTA. I worked at 24-Hour Fitness for two and a half years and reached the level of master trainer (2500+ sessions trained). I am now ready to branch out with Andy Hyde and Uptown Myotherapy toward bigger and better things. After being 280 lbs for 10 years and leaving college at 295 lbs, I decided there needed to be a change in my life. I tried many diets from the Atkins diet to high calorie deficits. The only thing that works is dedication to exercise and knowledge of food. With those two things anything is possible. From not being able to run even a half mile, I have now completed two Ironmans, five half-Ironmans and many other races in the past three years. Resistance training and my nutrition has totally changed my physique to enable me to currently be in the best shape of my life. Weighing in at a lean 215 lbs, I feel great and can’t imagine a life without fitness. I want to help others achieve their goals. I fully believe that you get 100 percent out of what you put into your workout regimen and food. I can’t wait to meet you, review your goals, and figure out the best way to help you to realize them while still enjoying your day-to-day life.

Our fitness studio, while intimate and private, is very versatile offering most of the exercise equipment available in large gyms. Our fitness programs use TRX trainers, TRX Rip Trainers, battling ropes, resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, plyometric boxes and devices to promote stability. This private studio allows you to choose the music you want to motivate you during our sessions. The entire room is dedicated to fitness and every inch can be used!
