About Me

I'm Dave, 47-year old, Master Trainer who has serviced over 6300 lifetime sessions, and I have been training clients professionally for six years, but I have been training overall a total of 32 years. As an added advantage, I have been a high school certified English and German teacher and coach for 17 years, so I have a solid proficiency at instruction, organization, programming, and preparation for students and athletes alike. I have certifications from NASM including, the basic Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist (for athletes) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (for dealing with injuries, the elderly, and the like). I enjoy training, and I have high expectations for my clients as I demand excellence from them always since I believe all of my clients can achieve their goals with the right commitment level.

What to Expect

My clients will realize from the outset that I want to start by building the foundations of training teaching dynamic movements which are essentially fundamental to all training modalities. I provide a structure, an order, an organization and time frame in which to accomplish all parts of what is necessary to complete each daily session based on the program that is conducive to whatever the client's purpose in training is. In other words, I'm very sensible and rational, so no time at all is wasted and everything serves the purpose of building the client as if I were building a massive skyscraper, from the ground up, from blueprint (program) to final completion of the "building." Clients learn and develop as they grow into becoming the fittest they've ever been in their entire lives.

Client Success Story

I have a client, a professor at SHSU, I have been training for about five years. He has accomplished incredible feats, but simplest to say, he started at 262 lbs and 32 percent body fat, and in about the first year, he dropped to 198 lbs and 17 percent body fat. He struggles with his diet, but I keep him on track by reinforcing the value of his program and his aim of living a long, prosperous, healthy life unto a ripe old age. Bob Burress, client below, is 61 years old, and regular runner and an excellent client. I put him on a 10-week deadlift program where he added 25 lbs of strength from 340 to 365 lbs, twice his body weight at 61 years old. Btw, I've worked with him for years and dropped his body fat percentage to 10 percent on several occasions but generally maintains about 12 percent.

Motivation and attention to detail; two qualities making my experience with David an overwhelming success. During the year I spent with David, each 1 hour session was a mix of core and strength training, a majority of the exercises I had never experienced, resulting in an overall tremendous workout with results I had never previously experienced. David Boaz has been my personal trainer since October of 2010. As a former gymnast, I was really out of shape and had not really exercised for years. Since starting to work with David, I have gone down 5 dress sizes. David has brought back the athlete in me. During my training I experienced an injury (not related to training) and David was able to work with my physical therapist to get me back to health. I believe it was David's knowledge and skills that helped me get back to full ability with my knee. He is very focused and makes your training specific for the goals you want to achieve. David's knowledge of diet has helped me to eat more healthy. In January I was diagnosed with breast cancer and I believe the work I have done with David has made me healthy enough to face cancer. David has not only supported me throughout this journey but has guided me through ways that I can continue to work on my fitness goals. He continues to challenge me and I know when this journey is over, he will be there pushing me to reach my goals. You will not find a more encouraging personal trainer. He will give you a workout that will leave you feeling accomplished and will keep you focused on your goals.
