Hi, my name is Christopher. I have been interested in health and fitness since I was 12-years-old. I grew up practicing martial arts and at age 16 I started teaching it to people in different age groups, from young children to adults and also athletes preparing for world tournaments. I have obtained a 3rd degree black belt in a Japanese style called Shukokai. I also have a background in exercise science and sports studies at Rutgers University. I have been training private clients for about 5 years now. I am currently ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified. My current aspirations are to grow my clientele and to specialize in designing programs for individuals that are interested in Martial arts and strength training.

What to Expect

A client can expect during the training session to work on breath work, mobility, stability, dynamic warm up/movement prep and targeting the various fundamental movement patterns through various fun and challenging exercises. Depending on their goal, the amount of load to use, the intensity and duration of the movement, and the rest will be manipulated to assist the client in reaching their goal. I have learned through my extensive martial arts experience to teach and cue clients the basic components of each exercise. Breathing is the 1st aspect of training that needs to be addressed followed by form. These two fundamentals are important in setting a solid foundation to begin to address a client’s goal. In addition, I will coach the client to perform a movement with proper form and to execute movements that are not only fun but will be the best way to help them reach their goal.

Client Success Story

I currently coach an individual with Aspergers syndrome that has been a client of mine for 1 year. This individual has had a host of issues of lack of mobility, poor nutrition and low cardiovascular fitness. Throughout the duration of the sessions that were conducted the client was able to achieve more flexibility and as a result has improved posture. In addition, I have coached him to change his meals to one that is more nutritious and fulfilling. As a result he has lost 10 pounds since I have started with him. Due to his condition I have had to research and speak with various colleagues of mine as how to design a specialized program for him.
