My name is Chandler and I am a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified personal trainer. I am currently attending Colorado State University with a double major in psychology and sports medicine. I have a passion for fitness, as well as helping others, which made me want to pursue personal training. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, playing sports, and hanging out with friends. In terms of my fitness experience, I have trained in bodybuilding for the past 7 years, and I have been an athlete my entire life. I am excited to work with clients and help them reach their fitness and health goals.
National Academy of Sports Medicine
The initial process would be a consultation. In this consultation, we would discuss your goals, areas of pain, nutrition, activities, and other things in order for me to gain a general idea of what fitness plan would be ideal for you. After the consultation, we can do a fitness assessment if you would like. This would consist of weight, blood pressure, pulse, and percent body fat. We would then move on to a session of training in which I would take you through an example workout routine. Usually it starts with targeting areas of pain through Self Myofascial Release (foam-rolling) among other tools in order to help alleviate some of the muscle tightness. We would also look at muscle activation in order to determine exactly what might be causing some pain and imbalances. We would then progress to some cardiovascular training of your preference (bike, treadmill, elliptical, boxing, etc.) Next, we would move on to resistance training in which we would build muscle in specific target areas. These three things (self myofascial release, cardiovascular training, and resistance training) take up our entire 60 minute session.
I have a client who has had fractured discs, thoracic outlet syndrome, and other areas of pain. We were able to target the areas that were causing her pain (such as inactivated glutes and weak abdominals). As we strengthened these areas, her pain has vastly decreased. We have only been training together for a month, but the progress has been great and I am excited to see her progress moving forward.
