I grew up in Austin, Texas, Gainesville, Florida, and Las Cruces, New Mexico. As an adult I've lived in Austin and Tokyo, Japan. I am fluent in Japanese. As an athlete I raced competitively (5K record: 13:41), did triathlons (I've finished 26 IRONMAN distance races), and windsurfed. As a young man I played basketball with several teams. My triathlon experience motivated me to become a personal trainer and my favorite thing about being a personal trainer is that I am able to truly help people become healthy and live more fulfilling lives. Additionally my own athletic experience allows me to better understand how to enable athletes to better compete in their own respective sports.
