My name is Betsy Bohlen, certified personal trainer and founder of fitATX. After many years of dedication to my own personal fitness and attending numerous boot camps and exercise classes, I discovered my passion to share this dedication with others. Being a trainer has been the most rewarding career I've ever had. It's incredible to see the positive impact my work has on others, which keeps me striving to continue performing at my best. Coupled with a safe workout environment, I like to promote a fun and social environment! Yes, you will get in a great workout, but I want you to enjoy it as well! Have fun while working out and you're so much more likely to stick with it!

What to Expect

A typical session with me will include a warm-up, usually some type of moderate cardio to get your muscles warmed up and heart beating a bit faster. The meaty part of the session will include a large amount of strength training along with cardio bursts to keep that heart pumping. I like to keep things interesting by using different equipment throughout the workout. Every workout is different and is geared towards the individual's level.

Client Success Story

A client came in after recently moving to Austin from the Northeast. She had just come from a string of personal issues and was ready to get back into fitness and boost her confidence in her new city! An athlete in high school, she had lost a lot of her motivation and gained quite a bit of weight over the past several years. Her personal stress soon turned into her workout motivation. We began by starting slow, basic moves and getting her muscles used to this kind of effort again. We also ran together once a week as she enjoys a good run and getting outdoors. After several personal sessions and starting to get back into the groove of working out, she could already feel the difference and decided to also join my boot camp classes. Her progress was increasing every day and our time per mile during runs was slowly decreasing. Being very self motivated, she cut back on the personal sessions but stuck with boot camp and running outside of the gym. After 5 months of consistent exercise, and with no major changes to her diet (she wouldn't give up her love of a good beer!), she was 20lbs lighter, could see definition in her arms and legs, and had dropped from a 10-11 minute mile pace down to an 8:30-9 minute pace. She loves when I recommend a heavier weight or a more difficult version of an exercise we are doing in boot camp to continue challenging herself and bettering herself. She has now made her fitness a lifestyle instead of just a goal.
