I also pride myself in helping many veterans and active duty members while I was working at the Airforce Base here in Colorado.

I came to work with Azul because I wanted to learn proper technique for Olympic lifts (Clean, Snatch). She started our first session by examining my existing "technique" and immediately noticed about 100 flaws. She then had me do specific progression exercises that would help with each flaw in a systematic way which would build to proper technique on the lifts I wanted to improve. She is/was always happy to answer any question I had and has many different ways of explaining everything to help me understand. This is an important skill for a coach to have as every student doesn't learn the same way and really shows her vast experience level. Fast forward about 5 months to the present and I'm still working with Azul multiple days every week. My lifts have gone from terrible at best with a high probability of hurting myself to much much more controlled and with proper technique, not to mention the strength/weight increase which has more than doubled from when I started. We now work on technique for every "crossfit" movement and I went from never doing crossfit to just finishing the 2017 Crossfit Open after doing all the WODs as prescribed and finished in ~56K place in the world out of 214K men! I highly recommend Azul and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to all my friends and my wife (as I already have done!).

I've been working with Azul for roughly 3 years. My first session with her was when I attended a drop in class offered at the fitness center. The CrossFit class I was taking through work got discontinued and working out on my own wasn't cutting it. I couldn't push myself hard enough. When I tried the drop in class at the fitness center I was immediately hooked. Azul's session lasted exactly 1 hour. Just the amount of time I like to allot to a workout. After she got our heart pumping with a little jog, some sit-ups, squats and pushups, she gave us a workout specific warmup during which she instructed us on our form for the exercises we were going to do in the workout. The workout came next, and it was definitely challenging. Azul was encouraging us throughout the whole workout without being annoying. Once the workout was complete she instructed us on stretching and cooled us down.

Azul's sessions are always enjoyable. She has a friendly and funny attitude and knows how to push you to the next level. I've had friends join in the class and they comment on how she can push you without pushing you too much and driving you away. Her sessions pack a lot into a small amount of time but don't get me wrong, you learn a lot and get a great workout. She can warm you up, teach you a new technique, give you a workout and cool you down all within the hour. With continual visits Azul will have you meeting your goals in no time. Your strength, endurance and attitude will all improve. On one of my 'not feeling like working out' days, Azul managed to teach me a bar muscle up. I can't say I've had any other instructors get you to do something even when you didn't feel like working out! She's amazing!

Azul is very knowledgeable, not only on the moves but on health and general fitness. By that I mean what muscles are used when and what stretches to do before and after certain moves or what can help aching muscles. She continually researches and learns the latest and greatest with fitness. She keeps up with certifications and regularly posts interesting findings on her Facebook page. For example, I've learned how CrossFit helps your lower back, what exercises to do while at my desk job, along with workout and health tips from various posted success stories she's found. All this shows Azul loves what she does.

Patience is another strong point of Azul's. She will work with you until you've master a technique and then she'll have you keep repeating it so you won't forget how to do it. She also has a knack for explaining things. She doesn't only show you how to do it (since she can do every technique there is), she even shows you the wrong things you're doing. She can also explain things in multiple ways just in case you don't understand what she's saying the first time. Since I don't see her every day, I sometimes forget moves or tips she previously taught me and he really doesn't mind showing or explaining it all over again.

I fully trust Azul. She is always watching. During warmups, the workout and stretching/cool down, I feel confident she will correct me should my form be wrong. She does not want anyone to get injured. In fact, I can say I trust Azul more than I trust myself when it comes to performing a move, competing, or picking the appropriate weight for the workout. With her encouragement I have done well above my expectations in every workout. Performing a technique I thought I'd never get, lifting more weight than I thought I could, performing more reps then I thought I would and even placing in a respectable position in CrossFit competitions and the CrossFit open. It's almost as if she knows better than I what I am capable of. I put a lot of trust in her and she has never let me down.

You will not be sorry about taking any sessions with Azul. Listen to what she has to say, watch what she has to show, let her encourage you ever step of the way and you will achieve your goals, she wants you to.

Azul is truly the best trainer I've ever worked with. She's knowledgeable, fun, professional, passionate, challenging.. I really cannot recommend her highly enough. The best part about working with Azul is that she pushed me to the next level. She helped me build confidence with Olympic lifting by making sure that my technique was perfect, and was always my personal cheerleader keeping me motivated to accomplished my goals.
