My name is Amanda. I have seven plus years of personal training experience and four years as a Corrective Exercise Specialist. I instructed my own group fitness classes for over three years and did in-home training as well. I'm the owner of ALC Fitness and previously had a private personal training studio in Austin, TX until we moved to Massachusetts because my husband took a job there. In MA, I worked as a group fitness instructor at Orangetheory Fitness, then took a job at Wingate Healthcare (independent/assisted living residence) where I instructed group fitness and nutrition classes, and did one on one sessions with residents. I have worked with elderly people with a variety of illnesses, such as, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, COPD, etc. Before I moved into my own training space, I worked at Austin Fitness Clinic for three years. Prior to working at AFC, I worked at Lifetime Fitness. I also instructed a boot camp for Wells Fargo for two years and have helped out with boot camps for Home Away. Before becoming a personal trainer, I worked as a chiropractic assistant, where I assisted patients with stretching and strength training for injury rehabilitation and prevention, as well as, treated them through manual therapy. I loved rehabilitating patients and watching their progress and improvement, which is what inspired me to become a personal trainer. I specialize in pre and post-natal training and corrective exercise as well. I absolutely love what I do! I will be moving back to Austin, TX soon, so looking to continue personal training and teaching group fitness classes.

There isn't a typical training session. Each session is unique and based on a client’s needs and personal goals, designed to improve their overall health. Your first session will be more for me to assess your strengths and weaknesses and learn about your personal goals. You can always expect me to make sure you are using proper techniques and correct form. I also focus on evaluating and strengthening the weak and injury prone areas of the body, which enables clients to work out pain free and gain the physical independence necessary to enjoy all aspects of life. I do not only help with your workouts, but also give you advice on how to make healthier food choices. Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand. You cannot adopt one healthy habit and neglect another without having an imbalance in your lifestyle. My workouts are fun, but challenging. You will leave my session feeling energetic and with a smile on your face! Are you ready to be healthier, happier and feel better about yourself? Are you ready to make a lifestyle change?
