My name is Alan, and I am a Sifu (teacher) of Northern Shaolin Eagle Claw Kung Fu (from the Lau Fat Mang Lineage). I have been training for twenty (20) years, and teaching for fifteen (15). It is my experience that anyone at any age, and any level of expertise can benefit from training. This Art provides strength, flexibility, and cardio training, in addition to the fundamental ability to defend one's self with a variety of techniques.
A Typical Session includes: 20 minutes of warm-up and stretching, 20 minutes of fundamental technique (striking, kicking, blocking, stance/foot work), and 20 minutes of specific techniques (meditation, form/kata, defensive/offensive movement).
One of my clients has a congenital joint disorder, and has had a double hip replacement. Over the course of the last year she has regained a number of ranges of motion, including the ability to kick at her chest level. Her confidence in her movement has increased, as has her sense of independence.
