My name is Abby and I'm an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer. I have extensive experience in all things exercise and nutrition based, including experience working as an independent contractor and as a trainer at Equinox Sports Club in Boston. I love running, hiking, skiing and basically everything outdoors! I'm also super into clean eating and cooking healthy meals that fuel my body. I went to school for psychology and have always been a person who wants to improve the quality of other people's lives. I changed career paths and became a personal trainer because of the ways in which fitness and health transformed me both physically and mentally. I have seen truly amazing results and it's my passion to educate and coach others on how to live a healthy/active lifestyle no matter who they are.

What to Expect

My goal in my training sessions is to combine my client's goals with exercises that are challenging but doable for them to obtain optimal results. Functional movement patterns are also a main focus of my training. I will not have my clients do an exercise until their form is proper and they are totally comfortable with doing multiple sets and repetitions of that exercise. It is very important to me that my clients feel encouraged, comfortable and not judged in any way. I make sure to always ask and be aware of how my clients are feeling both physically and mentally during training. My training style does not target specific body parts on certain days but instead will always be a full body workout -- starting with full-body motions and digressing to exercises and motions that target only specific muscles (though I am open to training specific body parts each day if that is what my client desires.) I also specialize in HIIT (high-intensity interval training) and cardiovascular endurance training. I have a certification in prenatal/postnatal training as well.

Abby and I had never met before our first session. I have been a member at Equinox for almost ten years and during that time I have used several trainers: sprained right ankle, broken left ankle, general strengthening, etc. After I purchased a package and we were matched, I asked a trainer about her. He said I would be very pleased to work with her. On the day of our session, as I checked in, another trainer said "She's great!". So, first, her peers respect her. Secondly, as we completed my assessment, she listened carefully, quickly grasped my perspective and reviewed the data to make sure I understood the significance and could set priorities for our time together.

Abby is an amazing personal trainer. During my time with Abby I was able to exceed the fitness goals I had set for myself! Not only did she help me to lose weight, but when I first started training with Abby I wasn’t able to do a squat or a push-up, and within a few weeks I was able to do multiple sets of both. Also, by doing weekly HIIT workouts and focusing on gaining muscle, I was able to improve my mile time. I definitely recommend training with Abby for anyone looking to meet their fitness goals!

Abby is very good to create a program based on your goals and wants. She also make sure nothing will be easy for you during your work out. Each and every part of it is very effective and she is also being supportive when you are doing the program. I very enjoyed my sessions with her and I strongly recommend her As a personal trainer.

I worked with Abby 12 times over a two month period. The sessions were varied with a focus on core and balance but also included strengthening and cardio. I thought the sessions were great. Abby seemed to get me to do more than I thought possible while keeping things positive and upbeat.
