Hi, my name is Ryan. I am a graduate student at Florida Atlantic University and I live in the Miami Brickell area. I am originally from the Midwest and have been ACE certified for over five years. I also have my bachelor's degree in Health and Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. I have a wide variety of experience ranging from corporate gym personal training to training at a PT clinic. I am a stickler for proper form and changing up the workout routine.
American Counsil on Exercise
Expect to utilize the full time. I usually ask clients to warm up five minutes prior to the session. You don't need me for the warm-up, you can do that yourself, that way our full session is dedicated to your workout. Each client can expect something different depending on their goal. I incorporate many different techniques including HIIT, kickboxing, bodyweight, and so many other exercises. Finally, at the end of each session, I reserve the last five minutes for stretching and possible foam rolling. This is vital for injury prevention and also for improving posture and body mechanics.
I had one client that had a major language barrier (barely spoke any English) and had suffered from a stroke which left him with weakness on one side of his body. Instructing him how to do an exercises wasn't effective as he wouldn't understand me, so I used tactile cues to instruct him how to complete an exercise. I also incorporated kickboxing into his workout routine and manual stretching techniques. Over time, he stood more upright and his overall coordination showed a marked increase. His family members were ecstatic with the results.
