Hi my name is Roberto! I was born and raised in Houston, TX -- one of the fattest cities in America. Growing up as a heavy-set kid was tough because of all the variety of foods that was always accessible to me and my family. Not knowing the best choices to choose from growing up, I fell into a trap of eating to get big for sports. I lacked the knowledge of what it takes to be a superior athlete and to be healthy. I was going about it all wrong and hurting my body more by not eating the right foods. I was involved in numerous sports, including football, rugby, track and field, soccer and power-lifting as a teenager, but I noticed that my body wasn’t responding in the way it should to get to the next level. I then took it upon myself to learn and study the body more and found more styles of training and went more in-depth into nutrition. I started college weighing 255 lbs, and realizing I needed more of an edge, I decided to take up boxing in the off season. Playing Division I rugby in college was intense and I needed something to match that intensity and conditioning level. Boxing was the sport I needed to push myself forward. Since finding my passion in boxing, I decided to start teaching the sport. I then got my USA Boxing coach certificate in 2003 and have been teaching people to the present day. I started at Sam Houston State University and have now progressed to the Houston area. I am now working on future endeavors for my own personal gym. Personal training and training athletes is what I have a passion for. Coaching sports has also been a big part of my fitness career and life. I'm in my third year coaching high school rugby and look forward to teaching kids more about their health and sports nutrition.

Client Success Story

While working at 24-Hour Fitness I had a guy who was 6 feet 4 inches and weighed 390 lbs. I reduced his weight down to under 300 lbs in about two months time. He was extremely dedicated to his goal and his confidence level was through the roof. He was then able to get off cholesterol medication and became even more healthier. I love to help change people's lives for the longevity.
