Client Success Story

I met Hannah four months ago, and let’s just say that this girl is one dedicated, hard worker. She never skips a beat and had a very clear picture of her end goal from day one. It is no surprise Hannah is now a lean 15.5 percent body fat and stronger than she’s ever been. Her multiple lattes a day and desserts are now a distant thought. Hannah’s food log is full of an array of protein, vegetables, fruit, grass-fed butter, coconut oil, and other healthy fats. Hannah writes: "I started learning how to play roller derby at age 30. I’d never played a sport or even entered a gym, but I immediately fell in love. Over the past four years, I’ve moved up through the skill groups of the Texas Rollergirls Recreational League with hopes of one day making it onto one of the home teams. Roller derby is an intense workout; one minute you’re sprinting around the track, then you’re stopping on a dime while trying to avoid someone who’s aiming to put you on the ground. I was fast and my endurance was decent, but I knew that if I wanted to have a chance to play competitively that I needed to be much stronger (more strength=harder to move off the track). I met Megan through RetailMeNot’s corporate wellness program, and I started one-on-one training with her in June. I gave her a list of my six-month goals, with my main goal being to get drafted onto the Texas Rollergirls. My first step was starting a food log and each week she made suggestions that would help me gradually improve my diet, while increasing my performance and building muscle. I’ve transitioned into eating a Paleo diet about 90 percent of the time, and I’ve noticed that I no longer get the “afternoon slump;” I’ve stopped craving sweets (though I do enjoy them occasionally); my sleep is more restful and I’m able to sleep through the whole night; and I no longer feel bloated or gassy after eating certain foods. I’ve increased my endurance and strength (hello, abs!), without feeling like I'm “missing out” on foods I enjoy.

I had my first session with Megan this week, and it was great! While I have a background in sports and fitness, I had never done Crossfit before. She was able to quickly gauge my fitness level and work with me accordingly. She pushed me to work hard, but she was also very approachable and easy to talk to during the session! I am sore, but it feels great! I highly recommend Megan!
