Hi, my name Kirsten. I recently graduated college and received my bachelors degree in exercise science. I am currently preparing to take my CPT through ACSM. I spent the past four months shadowing a nutritionist and personal trainer to learn the ins and outs/ to figure out exactly where my passion is. I love fitness, motivating others, creating new fun, exciting workout plans, and maintaining a healthy diet.
ACSM
My role as their trainer would be to make sure they are walking away from the session feeling accomplished. I want them to understand that goals take time, energy, hard work and dedication. I do not fully believe in 'excuses'; however, I am very understanding and people have off days. Life is hard and people deal with difficult things everyday and people are always fighting battles. This basically how I want my clients to approach each session we spend together. Sure, things can be horrible at work or maybe even at home but during our hour long session I want them to be able to leave with their head up a little higher, feeling good about themselves.
I have been working with a 27- year-old girl. She was a hard core athlete in high school and then suffered an ACL injury. This caused weight gain years ago and ever since she has a struggled to reach her body weight goals. She was getting tired of not seeing results and was completely bored with her usual gym routine. We started meeting 2-3x a week and it has been over 3 months now. She was not at her number weight goal HOWEVER, she is healthy, happy and strong again. She has confidence and her and I now only meet 1x a week to train and then every couple weeks I adjust/add to her work out routine.
