I practiced wellness and fitness my entire life. I am a former Marine who once competed as a power lifter under the IPF. I've trained in downtown DC at exclusive clubs ie:(Capital City Club & Spa and Downtown Mint). I believe fitness should be a lifestyle, not just for a season. Like a marriage it won't work if you cheat on it!!
National Academy of Sports Medicine
You can expect to be educated on proper lifting/training technique, fun, challenging and ever-evolving program design.
*A senior with balance issues who once sat down to put on his trousers, after consistent balance and reactionary training he no longer needed to sit down 😉“ *I was a late-60’s, post-cardiac bypass geezer, in less than great shape, when I started training with Chris Barnes at Mint a year or so ago. Chris understood what I needed better than I did. With tact, humor and both gentleness and firmness, he set about strengthening me. The range of his knowledge and experience in personal training is extraordinary. He planned out each session in detail, so as to build on previous sessions. Over the time Chris worked with me, I began doing things better and longer than when I started. He pushed me, but never beyond what I could do. Everyone I knew at Mint agreed that Chris was the best trainer they had. I am grateful to Chris, and glad that I had the opportunity to work with him.”

Chris is the best trainer I have ever had! I have numerous injuries and arthritis, and his expertise and creativity pushed me beyond the strength level I thought I could achieve! He is interested in your full health and meeting you where you are and then tailoring your workout to where you want to be, and beyond! I highly recommend Chris for all!
