I'm a certified personal fitness trainer by American Aerobic Association International / International Sports Medicine Association. When I was in high school, I was on the track team. I was a sprinter and a shot putter. I was in pretty good shape. Then came college, pizza, beer and soda. After all, I knew I was going to live forever. As I got older, I paid much less attention to my body and a lot more attention to everything else in my world. I got heavy. No, I got fat. Both of my parents (may they rest in peace) were heart patients and both had quadruple bypass operations when they around 60 years old. My grandparents on both sides of the family were heart patients. In the fall of 2010, the gym I had joined years ago, but very rarely visited sent me an email inviting me in for a free body assessment as a birthday gift. Free is a very popular price with me, so I went there and after an hour of discussion and a few exercises signed up for personal training. I had the same personal trainer for more than two years, and during that time we set some goals which I exceeded, like being able to do 500 push-ups in 40 minutes and being able to bench press 200 pounds. My personal trainer guided me into having not only a new body, but a different and more positive outlook on life. I look at that experience as a gift, and I want to be able to share that gift.
Most sessions will be exercise and cardio based. Some sessions will be devoted to reviewing successes, areas for improvement, diet management and other issues that may arise that are more important than exercise that particular day.
